Take a look at following questions
Do you compare yourself negatively to some of your opponents ?
Does your self confidence take a dive if you make a mistake ?
Do you get angry when the decisions go against you ?
Do you often lose after having established a good lead ?
Do you get the jitters on big occasions ?
Do you have an opponent that you hate to play against because you always just lose against them ?
Do you "lose the plot" sometimes ?
Do you tell yourself
"I will never get that particulart area of my game right"
"To win I have to be perfect."
"I have to hit every shot."
If you can recognise any of the above in yourself, then don't worry, you are in good company, many aspiring elite athletes also have these same tendencies.
Whether your particular problem is on the list or not why not call for a no obligation chat and see whether you could use some of the kind of help I offer. As a former athlete I understand the necessity for effectiveness as far as time is concerned. I know your time as an athlete is precious so I will not waste your time and my time offering you services that do not fit your problem.
In my opinion all athletes need mental performance techniques. Some have naturally developed their own techniques, however, even then, these techniques rarely cover all aspects of the mental game.
My aim when working with you as your Mental Performance Coach is to help you to look at yourself in relation to your sport and the mental challenges you have and how you approach them now. We then work on knocking down any existing barriers to your success. I then equip you with all the tools you need to maintain rock-solid self-confidence and the mental toughness that will both lift and give consistency to your performances.
I also aim to get you to be independant of me as quickly as possible by giving you a thorough grounding in all the techniques we work with. Of course, I am always there to help and support in any way you need.
And let's get it straight from the start, I expect to be invited to your performances and medal ceremonies in the Olympic or World Championships !
