Personal Mental Training Program

The Aims

The aim of the Personal Mental Training Program (PMTP) is to equip you the athlete with all you need to be able to :

 

  • Set both short term and long term goals.
  • Learn how to keep your motivation high, even in the depths of winter training.
  • Combine your sports life harmoniously with the rest of your life.
  • Build rock-solid confidence and trust in yourself.
  • Develop laser-like focus and concentration.
  • Control your mental and emotional states during training and performance.
  • Choose which mental state and which emotions to call upon for each aspect of your performance.
  • Achieve a mental toughness that will sustain you through competitions.
  • Be aware of and eliminate mental blocks.
  • Keep the fun in your sport.
  • Create a working plan that will make all of the above possible.

 

The Plan

Taking all of the above into consideration and any other factors that may be special to your case, we put together your own individual mental training plan.

We will then both commit 100% to this plan. The plan becomes the guide that we will both use to develop and maintain your progress in all the aspects of mental training.

We will decide when and how we meet. Virtual meetings are also available using internet technology, this can help in cutting down transport time in your already busy life.

This plan covers all aspects of the mental game and so requires the deepest commitment to regular meetings and exercises from both you and me.

Following this whole plan will equip you with all you ever need in terms of mental training.
